Come Join us on a tour full of adventure and fun!!
This is a “wanna get away” tour that we have put together just for our OregonWest travelers based on feedback from our recent survey. We realize this is a short turn around for a tour, but it seems there is an appetite for getting out of Oregon this spring to somewhere warm! We have worked to keep the costs of this tour as low as possible and got a great rate on airfare, but we need to make a decision quickly regarding the feasibility of the tour. We have built it for a smaller group and will take the tour if 15 or more travelers sign up!
Itinerary
Day One -April 28th, 2024 Arrival in Palm Springs
Today we will leave Portland in the early afternoon and arrive in Palm Springs by 5PM. We will check into our hotel and then have a great dinner together in Palm Springs. Enjoy the warm desert air and the fun character of this desert oasis. (D)
If you come to this part of California, a trip to the Salton Sea is a must. This, the largest lake in California, has quite a storied history and exploring some of the ghost towns and abandoned resorts of the area has become very popular. We will enjoy the lake and the surroundings and have a boxed lunch at one of the view points. This afternoon we will head back to Palm Springs and get some time to freshen up and rest at the hotel before we head out for an Architecture Tour and Martini focused on the homes and rest stops that the famous Rat Pack of the golden age of Hollywood enjoyed! After the architecture tour, we will stop for a martini before we head off for dinner as a group! (B, L, D)
This morning we will take our time having breakfast and preparing for the day. After a leisurely morning, we will head into Palm Springs and enjoy some time to do some shopping and exploring in the famed shopping district. After some shopping and exploring, we will come together to head for our next excursion – a jeep tour of the San Andreas natural area. A rugged and beautiful area, we will learn about the geologic history and significance of this place that has such an infamous name! Tonight we will have dinner together and then take the opportunity to enjoy the local culture at the Palm Springs Village Fest. (B, D)
Heading Home
This morning we will have breakfast at the hotel and then head to the Palm Springs International Airport and the short flight home. As always a comfortable trip back to your car is waiting for you!
