Journey through towering redwoods, scenic rivers, and charming coastal towns on this six-day adventure from the Northern California coast and back up Oregon’s stunning shoreline. Highlights include a float trip on the Smith River, a walk beneath ancient redwoods in Jedediah Smith State Park, and a thrilling dune buggy ride in Florence. Enjoy wine tasting in Roseburg, coastal strolls in Brookings and Bandon, and scenic views at Heceta Head and Thor’s Well. We’ll stay in handpicked accommodations, including the oceanfront Overleaf Lodge in Yachats. With a relaxed pace, regional dining, and plenty of time to take in the scenery, this tour is designed for travelers who love nature, coastal beauty, and the comfort of a fully escorted OregonWest experience. Pickups will be at our usual spots: Tualatin, Woodburn, Salem & Albany.
Day One – Saturday, July 12, 2025 – Down the Valley to Roseburg
Our coastal adventure begins with a relaxed journey south, including a charming stop at the Carousel Museum in Albany, where artistry and nostalgia come to life. After lunch in Eugene, we’ll continue to the heart of Southern Oregon wine country with a stop at a local winery for light snacks and a tasting. This evening, we’ll settle into our hotel in Roseburg and enjoy a welcome dinner together. (L, D)
Day Two – Sunday, July 13, 2025 – Redwoods & the Rugged Coast
After breakfast, we travel through the scenic Rogue Valley to Crescent City, California. We’ll stop for lunch in Cave Junction before entering the towering majesty of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, where ancient trees create an awe-inspiring atmosphere. After soaking in the serenity, we’ll check into our oceanfront hotel and enjoy dinner overlooking the Pacific.

Day Three – Monday, July 14, 2025 – Rivers, Beaches & Bandon Charm
Today begins with a peaceful float on the Smith River, surrounded by some of the world’s most pristine redwoods. Afterward, we’ll stop in Brookings for lunch and enjoy free time along the beach—perfect for photos or simply relaxing. In the late afternoon, we’ll travel north to Bandon, a quaint seaside town where we’ll spend the evening and enjoy dinner together.(B, D)
Day Four – Tuesday, July 15, 2025 – Dunes & Lighthouses on the Central Coast
After breakfast, we head up the coast to Florence, where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch on your own. This afternoon brings adventure with a thrilling (but smooth!) dune buggy ride across Oregon’s sweeping sand dunes, followed by a visit to Heceta Head Lighthouse, one of the most photographed on the West Coast. Tonight, we check into the beautiful Overleaf Lodge in Yachats and dine with views of the sea. (B, D)
Day Five – Wednesday, July 16, 2025 – Yachats at Leisure
Enjoy a laid-back morning with a visit to the dramatic coastal wonder known as Thor’s Well, followed by free time in downtown Yachats to shop, stroll, and enjoy lunch at your own pace. After some afternoon rest at the Overleaf, we’ll come together for a lovely farewell dinner in Yachats. (B, L)
Day Six – Thursday, July 17, 2025 – Marine Discovery & the Journey Home
Our final day includes a stop at the Hatfield Marine Science Center, where fascinating exhibits showcase the ocean’s mysteries. Then we’re off to Newport’s Historic Bayfront, where you’ll have time for lunch, shopping, or simply watching the harbor seals. With coastal memories in tow, we make our way home through the beauty of the Oregon coast. (B)
