Visit the Village of Lights at Christmastown in Leavenworth, Washington for fun, food, and festive cheer! This amazing winter excursion is sure to kick start your holiday cheer with all of the holiday trappings including: a walking tour of Christmastown to orient yourself, accommodations in the Bavarian Lodge, a visit to the Nutcracker Museum, a horse-drawn sleigh ride (snow dependent), warming gluhwein, winter views of Snoqualmie Falls, and some free shopping time in downtown Leavenworth. Join us on this cheerful winter escape!
Day 1 – Tuesday, Dec. 3: Arrival in Leavenworth
The luxury motor coach will head north toward Leavenworth after stops in Salem, Woodburn, and Tualatin. We will stop along the way for lunch before arriving in Leavenworth and checking into the perfectly situated Bavarian Lodge. Once settled in, we will head out to dinner in the town center and the rest of the evening is yours to explore the surroundings. (L, D)
Day 2 – Wednesday, Dec. 4: Christmastown!
Start the day with a full breakfast buffet at the Bavarian Lodge and then step out the doors into the heart of Christmastown! To help orient ourselves, we have a great walking tour set up to get a bit of the history and layout of Leavenworth (and maybe a few tasty treats!). The walking tour will last approximately one hour including all of the planned stops; at the end, we will have a better understanding of the magical place that is Leavenworth. We will then step into the Nutcracker Museum to see the over 9,000 nutcrackers that have been collected from over 50 countries. After lunch, the group will have free time to explore the downtown area and do some holiday shopping if the mood strikes. We will regroup at the hotel and head out to dinner for some delicious food and debrief the best spots in Christmastown. (B, L, D)
Day 3 – Thursday, Dec. 5: Sleigh Ride, Cider, and Itinerary Options
After our breakfast buffet at the hotel, guests will have a choice of activities; either spend the morning in Leavenworth to extend your explorations (or holiday shopping!) on your own, or hop aboard the bus to Cashmere to visit the Applets & Cotlets factory followed by the Wenatchee Valley Museum. The whole group will come together in the early afternoon for a quick trip out to the Lake Wenatchee area for a festive horse-drawn open sleigh ride! The bells jinggling in the winter landscape are sure to capture the hearts of all! An early evening cider tasting will warm our hearts and invigorate our appetites for dinner in Leavenworth. We will enjoy a hearty dinner our last night in town before a great night’s rest. (B, D)
Day 4 – Friday, Dec. 6: Farewell to Leavenworth – Hello Snoqualmie Falls
Following our full buffet breakfast we will checkout and depart Leavenworth. On our way back to Oregon, we will make a stop at Snoqualmie Falls to capture some beautiful winter views and stretch our legs before heading continuing on our way to lunch. In the afternoon, we will make our way to our designated drop-off locations in Tualatin, Woodburn, and Salem. (B, L)
