Day 1 – Thursday May 5th – Home to Ashland
First stop The Wolf Creek Inn… where we’ll indulge in a great lunch and have a fascinating tour! It is the oldest continuous use hotel in the state of Oregon. Built in1883 by pioneer merchant Henry Smith, the Inn was billed as a “first-class traveler’s hotel” for folks traveling on the stagecoach. The building was first called Wolf Creek Tavern, an old English term describing a hotel that served food. Our home for the next two nights: the Historic Ashland Springs Hotel (formerly the Mark Antony)… It has been transformed into a haven of taste and elegance reminiscent of Small European hotels. You’ll have plenty of time to get cozy in your room before we head next door to the Oregon’s Cabaret Theater for the dinner show… It was voted one of the best cabaret theatres in the country. Get ready for the musical In the Heights… Before Hamilton, Broadway wunderkind Lin Manuel Miranda created In the Heights, the 2008 Tony Award Best Musical winner. It takes place in a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood — a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you and which ones you leave behind. Ashland Springs Hotel (L, D)

Day 2 Friday May 6th – Ashland – Local Touring
The next day… is all yours to explore the wonders of Ashland and Lithia Park… This is Big City Arts and Entertainment wrapped up in a Small Town Package. You will have the option to head to Jackson- ville & the Rogue Creamery, the Lillie Belle Candy Shop & the Daisy Creek Wine Shop… 3 stops in one! The award winning Rogue Creamery is celebrating 80 years of making delicious, artisan cheeses; hand-crafted blue cheese, cheddar cheese and TouVelle. Early evening, we head to one of our favorites for dinner… Beasy’s on the Creek. Now we’re ready for Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s production Once On This Island… Once on a golden and verdant Caribbean island, a little girl is rescued from a disastrous storm by four gods — Asaka, Mother of the Earth; Agwé, god of Water; Erzulie, goddess of Love; and Papa Ge, demon of Death. So starts the myth told in this breathtaking story of Black joy and sorrow, the aftermath of colonization and isolation, and the triumph of love against all forces. Told with Caribbean rhythms and instruments, this Tony Award – winning musical is a testament that a beautiful story simply told has the power to inspire and heal all. Ashland Springs Hotel (B, D)

Day 3 Saturday May 7th – Ashland to Home
We’ll head home the next morning but the fun isn’t over… First stop: The Oregon Vortex… is a glimpse of a strange world where the improbable is the commonplace and everyday physical facts are reversed. No matter your education or profession you will find a challenge to all your accepted theories. It is an area of naturally occurring visual and perceptual phenomena, which can be captured on film. Next a delicious lunch at Tully’s in Oakland – you’ll love the historic town and atmosphere. Don’t miss this one… Ashland is always a wonderful escape! (B, L)
