Day 1 – Sunday, June 11th – Home to Victoria BC
Enjoy lunch at Anthony’s overlooking Gig Harbor – The Maritime City – featuring premium Northwest seafood and more. It is nestled in the Finholm Marketplace and offers a spectacular view of the harbor and Mt. Rainier. Next, we’ll depart on the Black Ball Ferry and breathe in the fresh air as we cross the beautiful Straits of Juan de Fuca. We’ll make our way up the great Peninsula to Port Angeles… nestled between the Straits of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains, this is an amazing place to visit and is beautiful this time of year! Entering Victoria’s inner harbor, you’ll admire beautiful hanging baskets on the lampposts, the gardens around the capital building, and the 19th century storefronts that line the downtown streets… No wonder Victoria is called “The Garden City”, and one of the world’s favorite places! Our home for the night is Chateau Victoria… relax in elegance in the heart of downtown. Your evening is free to explore beautiful Victoria, the provincial Capital of British Columbia. Day 2 – Monday, June 12th – Victoria Butchart Gardens Local Touring
Today we travel inside Butchart Gardens, one of the world’s premier floral show gardens, started in 1904 by Jennie Butchart. She transformed an abandoned limestone quarry into the dramatic Sunken Garden, a reflection of the early 20th-century beautification movement, and an exceptional achievement in Canadian gardening history. Enjoy a tasty breakfast at the Blue Poppy Restaurant as the sun shines through the large conservatory windows that face into the gardens. After breakfast, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the famous Gardens on your own. We’ll make our way back to Victoria this afternoon where you can take in High Tea at the Empress Hotel, take a horse drawn wagon tour, or just enjoy the beautiful city. Day 3 – Tuesday, June 13th – Victoria to Whistler BC
Today, we’ll travel through charming seaside villages such as Chemainus… Enjoy some free time to view more than 35 murals and 13 sculptures, before we arrive in “The Harbor City” – Nanaimo BC – where you’ll have time to explore on your own. Nanaimo is Vancouver Island’s second largest city. Originally it was the site where five separate native villages gathered together, called “Snenymo”, which meant “great and mighty people”. Next, travel to Horseshoe Bay on our next scenic ferry crossing. Soak in the magnificence of British Columbia as we cross the Strait of Georgia. Enjoy the spectacular views of Western Canada’s coastal mountains as we head to our home for the next 2 nights, Whistler Village. What’s so special about the Village? There’s always something to see and do! The sights and sounds change with the seasons, making every visit new and exciting. Most of all, there’s a special energy that only people in a beautiful place having a wonderful time can create; you can feel it every time you stroll through this pedestrian-friendly village! Day 4 – Wednesday, June 14th – Whistler Local Touring
After breakfast, enjoy a gondola ride up Whistler Blackcomb Mountain for a mountain-top lunch… this is not your average gondola ride! Next, take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, if you like. Taking almost two years to construct, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is an engineering marvel that connects the incredible high peaks of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Spanning 2.7 miles (4.4 km) and breaking three world records in the process, the gondola is a must-do while you are in Whistler. Get an unparalleled perspective of British Columbia’s rooftop from incomparable views of towering volcanic peaks to coastal rainforest! Disembark, and the experience is far from over; scenic walking trails, wildlife views, and indoor interpretive displays are ready for discovery! Day 5 – Thrusday, June 15th – Whistler to Vancouver BC
More great scenery is in store as we head down the Sea to Sky Highway. Our first stop is the tumbling waters of Shannon Falls… Stretch your legs and enjoy the breathtaking views. The waters originate from Mt. Habrich and Mt. Sky Pilot and the Falls are composed of a series of cliffs rising 1099 feet (335 m) above Highway 99, making it the third highest falls in the province! Next, climb aboard Sewell’s Boat Tours for a sea safari! You’ll find yourself racing beside steep cliffs, exploring caves, and viewing harbor seals at play. One such spot is Pam Rock where not only harbor seals hang out, but majestic bald eagles are often seen soaring overhead. Next, we’ll cruise out into the Strait of Georgia and see breathtaking views of Vancouver. On our trip to Horseshoe Bay, we’ll view spectacular waterfront homes around West Vancouver. We’ll land at The Boathouse Restaurant, where a wonderful lunch awaits. Day 6 – Friday, June 16th – Vancouver Local Touring
This Morning we enjoy a City Tour… Our step-on guide will educate us on Vancouver as we soak up the lively cultural atmosphere of Chinatown, one of North America’s largest! Head over to Robson Street, Vancouver’s famous shopping district in the heart of downtown. Explore the famous Stanley Park and the gorgeous views it offers. At Brockton Point, see the nine historic totem poles built by the First People in British Columbia. These stunning pieces of artwork reflect the rich culture of the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest. See Prospect Point, the highest point of Stanley Park and get amazing scenic views of the North Shore Mountains. Other amazing views in the area include the Lions Gate Bridge and Burrand Inlet. Next, enjoy some free time at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Originally built in 1889, the award winning Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of Greater Vancouver’s top attractions. Enjoy the thrill of crossing the 450-foot (137m) swaying bridge, suspended 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. The bridge offers splendid views of the river below and old growth forest. The park offers visitors a unique mix of adventure, history, and culture. As you explore the nature trails in the park, you will find interpretive information about the ecosystem. Day 7 – Saturday, June 17th – Vancouver BC to Home
We will head home from this great adventure today with fond memories of beautiful British Columbia. We’ll enjoy a few stops along the way, including the West Coast Duty Free Store – one of the largest road-side duty free stores in British Columbia. We will also stop for a wonderful farewell lunch at Tulalip Casino before arriving back home!
